Venue: OurBumiSpace (Unit A1)

Noah's first book, Meet Your Body, is designed to get clients and regular folks moving and thinking about 'oiling' the hinges of their body...if we don't use hinges, they rust!  In this three hour course, we'll use techniques and ideas from the book to help anyone who wants to feel better. One of the primary considerations of Meet Your Body is, begin!  Start small, but any movement is better than deciding to sit around and rust. Starting with toes and ankles, and working up into neck and head, we examine the hinges and how to make them work more happily.

Conducted by Elizabeth Buri, certified Level II CORE Instructor

CLASS FEES: RM1780 (deposit: RM600)

CORE I Intensive: Technique — CORE I focuses on the basic ideas of the CORE Philosophy of good, safe deep tissue bodywork: assess, learn to access the correct layer of resistance, create movements and breath work for the client, and integrate any and all work done. We also cover intention, the psoas muscle, kinesiology lines of fascia, appropriate stretching cues and focus on the CORE® one session recipe, which we also observe, practice on each other, and on a client. Added recently: skin and superficial fascia dissection DVD with Gil Hedley. There is no pre requisite for CORE I — any massage therapist (and many lay people) with curiosity can benefit from this class.

CORE I and II are pre-requisites to learning the CORE III and IV five series of five sessions.

CORE II Intensive: Technique — In this course we review the five session recipe and spend most of the time on techniques to enhance the work. Also included, Emotional Anatomy and more movement exercises.

Continuing the progression of learning that begins with CORE I, in CORE II we continue to work with the one session, one hour all purpose recipe for a session of generic, good-for-what-ails-you bodywork. In addition, we spend quality time learning specific CORE techniques that enhance the learning of that recipe. We’ll also visit emotional anatomy, seated back work, and review a bibliography of related readings that support the CORE philosophy.

CORE I and II are prerequisite to learning the CORE III and IV five series of five sessions.

Conducted by Elizabeth Buri, Level II CORE Instructor

NOTE: Enrollment in CORE II, III, or IV does not guarantee a certification. The certificate is issued at the discretion of the instructor, and requirements must be fulfilled in terms of the individual's progress. BodyMindCORE Work (for the Movement Therapist), co-written by Elizabeth Buri and Rob White, features two sections, both of which can be helpful to clients. In the first half of the book we talk about simple ideas that can make us healthier; learning better breathing techniques, calming the nerve of well-being, becoming more mindful. The second half features movement awareness ideas and exercises designed to open specific centers and gateways in the body so that all can move more freely with less restrictions in their bodies. We 'move' between the two segments in a pleasing yet mildly challenging day.

Movement Therapist's Edition: BodyMindCORE Work for the Movement Therapist was written for the movement therapy community, but truthfully, any bodyworker needs to become a movement therapist! If we don't give our clients ideas they can take home and incorporate into their lives and work habits, we're cheating them.  This book is in two segments, focusing on general health ideas, and specific ideas and goals for the four centers and five gateways of the body that Noah identifies. A powerful six hour day; book included in the cost of the course. Movement ideas garnered from yoga, Pilates, physiotherapy, and CORE bodywork; all designed to get clients thinking and moving.

CORE III Intensive: The Five Series focuses on the culmination of Noah Karrasch’s 30+ years of bodywork. In the intensive six-day course we'll look at a five session recipe designed to touch all the problem spots in a body, in several different ways.

In addition, we'll discuss each session, watch a demonstration by the tutor, work in partnership with each other through the five session series, and take one model through the series as well.

Students will come away with a healthy respect for a recipe that lets them get creative while honoring basic CORE principles. For serious students only! This is the basic recipe/five session guidelines of CORE work.
