This 30-hour program is ideally suited to certified yoga instructors, especially those who offer yoga in fitness settings, wanting to add something effective to their teaching toolkit. Firmly committed to the principles of yoga, this program offers a refresher in anatomy, lessons on safe and proper class sequencing as well as how to lead a class in your own voice.
The BADASANA series is the perfect compliment to your toolkit of fitness. If you are already a certified yoga instructor and are teaching in a gym, this program promises to take your classes to the next level. Its integrative approach creates an ideal bridge between two essential components of physical health.
This program combines the scientific principles of yoga, specifically vinyasa flow, with the isolated movement using light to medium weight dumb-bells.
The training syllabus includes the following, all of which counts towards your 30 hours:
some required reading in anatomy by David Keil.
Pre-arrival intake form to be completed upon registration.
Day 1: practice session led by Nadine McNeil, followed by 6 hours immersion of basic anatomy as it specifically relates to integrating weights with asana and how this impacts specific parts of the body.
Day 2: practice session led by Nadine McNeil, followed by a session on resistance training, de-constructing poses and class sequencing for basic and intermediate level classes.
Day 3: practice session led by Nadine McNeil followed by lecture series 'Teaching in your Authentic Voice.' Focusing on teaching styles, playlist selections and sequencing for advanced class.
Day 4: practice session led by Nadine McNeil followed by practice teach led by teachers and integrated written exercises. This day concludes with certificate presentation.
Course fee includes workbook manual and limited free access to on-line classes available on the SeeBeNow on-line platform. It does not include accommodation and costs for recommended and required reading material.
Upon completion of the program, successful participants will receive a certificate that applies towards CE credits as approved by Yoga Alliance.
The intention is to create a program that builds endurance and strength, while honoring the benefits of proper breathing and flexibility.
